First job of the weekend, with the help of the children, was to get this years potatoes in the ground. 3kg each of Foremost (1st early) and Saxon (2nd early). After a bit of book consulting I went for 12-15″ apart and 24″ between rows, closing to 12″ apart for some of the smaller foremost.  Hopefully the rows are spaced far enough apart to help make earthing up easier this time. The soil has had plenty of compost, plus a few handfulls of growmore to help things along.  Contemplated sowing some early raddishes or something but decided to leave that til tomorrow maybe.  Decided to get the plastic greenhouse set up, next to the shed but that means finding a home for a load of bricks, slabs etc.

Other main job was attacking the final tree on the proposed new shed site.  Started to try digging it out, but I really cant be bothered, so it’ll be cut down at ground level like the others.  Just need to be in a good mood before I start because of those annoying cheap bow saw blades 😦
